Here was this week's word:
NORMAL (noun)
1: a : a normal line
b : the portion of a normal line to a plane curve between the curve and the x- axis
2: one that is normal
Let me know what you think!
An Ode to Normal
Standard.
Norm.
Where are you
O icon of
Commonality?
What is it
You truly represent,
Paragon of the Expected?
Many a day
I have longed for you,
Many a night
Have I lain awake,
Wondering
Why do you
Elude
Me so?
Only to learn of
The fiction
You really are.
Standard.
Norm.
I will pursue you
No longer.

Nice response
ReplyDeleteThanks! I figured something like this I needed to have some fun with.
DeleteI really like this. It's clever and witty.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Seeing as my life has never been all that "normal" and with shortly adding a newborn to my life, I felt like I had to go there with this prompt.
DeleteCongratulations! Keep your sense of humor.
DeleteI loved the phrase paragon of the expected. Clever take on the prompt. Thanks for joining us this week. Please come back tomorrow for the new challenge.
ReplyDeleteThanks and thanks for the great prompt! It was certainly fun to take this route. I'll be sure to check back tomorrow.
DeleteSo true and the older I've gotten, I've realized "normal" doesn't "really" exist. And who determines what's normal, anyway?
ReplyDeleteExactly! I always thought my life WAS normal until I start discussing it with people and they're surprised by things I've done or places I've been, etc. That's what led me to decide there is no such thing as normal.
